Greek Islands Named “Best in the World” 2017 by Conde Nast Traveller

The beautiful Greek islands topped the list of the 20 “Best Islands in the World”, as voted by the readers of prestigious Condé Nast Traveller (CNT), due to their “extraordinary scenery and people.”
According to the CNT “Readers’ Travel Awards 2017” list the Balearics came second, followed by Sicily, the Maldives and Koh Samui in Thailand.

To top it off, Greece was voted as the second “Best Country in the World” by the readers of CNT after Italy, which came in at first place. The United States came third, followed by France and Spain.
In 2016 Greece had ranked first in the same category in the Readers’ Travel Awards, while the Greek islands had taken the second place on the “Best Islands in the World” list.
Greece has dominated ‘Europe’s Top 10 Islands’ category at this year’s Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards, with Santorini taking 1st place, Crete ranking 4th, Paros in 5th place and Rhodes at number 6.
