Arsenal’s new Greek defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos

Sokratis Papastathopoulos signs for Arsenal from Broussia Dortmund on a long-term contract for an undisclosed fee. The Greek international says he has joined “one of the three biggest teams in the Premier League. It is a beautiful moment and I am very happy that for the next years I will be here at Arsenal”.
Sokratis is a vastly experienced defender and looks to help Unai Emery strengthen Arsenal defensive problems from last season. He has also told mentioned “I’m a normal defender. I like to defend. I like that my team doesn’t take goals. I like a zero in the defence and I will do everything to help to achieve this goal.”
Papastathopoulos, who has 79 caps for Greece and will wear the number five shirt for the Gunners. Papastathopoulos will link up with fellow Greek International team mate Konstantinos Mavropanos. He will also be reunited with former Dortmund team-mates Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
